Making the most of your outdoor space

As a professional Garden Designer, I can help you in a variety of ways.  You can choose whatever services suit your situation.

  • garden advice & design tips
  • coaching sessions
  • renovating a border planting scheme
  • garden design & makeovers

I’ve nurtured a range of valuable contacts, working alongside skilled landscapers to realise, build and plant my projects.  My designs are well thought out to suit my clients and the context of their garden. Planting is my specialism and I have a keen awareness of colour perception in design.

Based in the beautiful spa town of Ilkley, West Yorkshire, Melissa Morton Garden Design typically serves Ilkley, and surrounding areas including Addingham, Bingley, Silsden, Wharfedale, North West Leeds; Harrogate & Skipton in North Yorkshire.

Every client is unique in what they want from their garden. Each garden is unique in terms of its site and its surroundings. My approach guides you through a design process, distilling your ideas.  The result is a creative yet practical and bespoke response to your garden and its setting.  Your involvement in the process means you will have a better understanding of your designed garden.  This in turn means the vision can be maintained in the future.

Garden Design requires a great many skills: creativity, planning, and an understanding of how things are built. I can produce garden plans, planting plans and where relevant, detailed construction drawings. I’m sometimes required to undertake simple site surveys, project monitor building works and supply and plant the plants.

If you are ready to have your garden renovated then take a look at the Garden Design Services. My involvement can be as little as a brief consultation for individual aspects of your garden or I can guide you through the various stages from start to completion, giving practical advice on construction, materials and sourcing plants.

Alternatively you may only want help with planting in your garden.  You may be happy with the hard landscaping and layout, but would like some professional guidance and advice on planting only.  Take a look at the Planting Design Services if this is what you want.

Horticultural services include planting, specialist pruning (eg fruit trees), garden-coaching and maintenance of designed & planted borders.
